The Muthill Cross is found in the yard of ancient and very beautiful ruins of an old church in the small village of Muthill, Scotland.

The knotwork running the length of the cross is endless, and thus cannot be untied. This symbolizes the knots which bind the soul to the world. These knots must be cut and broken for the soul to become free to begin the spiritual journey. The knotwork is also said to represent everlasting life.

The raised center symbolizes Most High God, everything revolves around him. The outer circle represents eternal life.
